Here is a wild guess: eventually, medaled troops will be required for kingdom progression. That makes any source of medals useful.

I’ll second your wild guess, as that’s my line of thinking on medals as well.

New Kingdom Power tasks beyond level 20 (not available yet), will require Players to enhance Troops from that Kingdom.

The game just hasn’t released enough troops where it becomes relevant any time soon and most kingdoms won’t see it for multiple years.
