Edit: I was mistaken, at least the explores have proper gold income. Things only go south in Ranked PvP for high level teams.
Can anyone confirm if Ranked PVP gold values seem noticeably affected by this change?
I’m spamming tier 3 PVP fights and everything still seems normal as far as I can tell (showing roughly 2k gold for most of my T3 PVP fights).
I’m trying to find conclusive proof that this adjustment changed more than just low tier casual PVP farming.
Well, my teams are all, and I mean all, past 15000 rating. Most at 15500ish. Looking at ranked PvP I’m getting 3 options to fight: 387 gold 8756 rating, 1141 gold 12656 rating, 1277 gold 13316 rating. Obviously I don’t want to play either.
So basically as a player advances in level and power you want them to be forced to compete against their peers. The same peers defenses that they will see each day, each week and year because you’re making their player pool smaller.
So rather than recode pvp to implement your boring ass plan.
You decide to remove any incentive of playing “easy matches”.
Casual PvP 4.7ckery aside.
Is anyone on that staff (besides Sirrian) even aware that you just made Ranked PVP a one option choice (instead of 3) for many many players?
So if you truly believe the game should be “the way it was designed to be” then stop being lazy. And recode pvp so that players only see defenses within the 2k team score that you decided to implement. Period.
in this case the change has a bigger impact on end gamers. in the notes its says gold is reduced for fights of 2K or less team score from you. … my team score is now ~15.6K. i just refreshed PvP 10 times and only saw two 3T battles that were within 2K team score of me… so all levels of PvP have been nerfed hard for me.

What is the point of casual PvP then if we are forced to face high defense power teams for 1/5 what ranked PvP gives gold wise for that exact same team and 1/3 the trophies?

Is it the gold “refresh” that makes it different?
Well we are being told that we are “exploiters” for using the refresh button. Because you wanted us to use the button how exactly? To find the most difficult teams in GoW to face?
Were you sick and tired of complaints about Delves? So gave us something new to yell at you about?
Has this become an abusive relationship where you only feel like you’re getting attention when we’re yelling at you?
Can 4.8 implemented a relationship counselor for the player and devs.
You realize we pay your salary right? Like 505 doesn’t just magically make that appear.
TL:DR …We owe you nothing. You owe us a better version of GoW than the one you try to force down our throats.
Here’s my last 7 Ranked PVP Options (I’m using a 15.1K attack team).
The problem seems to be less that gold has been nerfed somehow for fights in Ranked…and more that the team scores that I’m fighting against are noticeably lower.
This either leads me to believe that for some reason Ranked PVP isn’t offering us fights up to the updated team scores…or there are very very few people with 15k+ defense teams set.

i would guess that most players of 15K+ team score have learned “correctly” that there is a higher benefit(to them personally) of setting low score teams than high score teams.
EDIT: oh my MINIMUM team score is 14.7K 4 of my common troops that are mythiced (because all my troops are mythic) so that leads me to think Keylime nailed it. the PvP system needs to offer at minimum 3T fights within 2K team score if that is the cutoff for gold nerf. ideally of course the “explot fix” only effects that issue and nothing else. seems like a major oversight by the devs and hopefully they help address this soon.
You can’t really chose to set low score teams, score is mostly dictated by your account progress.
Unfortunately with almost everything Mythic - even using a Key team it’s still circa 15,5-15,600. I put Winter Imp at legendary back into a Vespa moped team and it dropped me 60 pts…

seems to me that it would be more efficient for the 3 pvp tiers to limit team score ranges based on your account progress. rather than to nerf gold for such a huge range.
dont offer me lvl10 players with 200 team score and i wont fight them religiously

I did a test of the double Cedric / Key team earlier this morning and got ~7000 gold for difficulty 12.
Hmm…changes to guild seals look good; changes to how guild guardian troops drop also look good. Reflect adjustment is fine.
Delve adjustment - meh, I guess. I doubt anybody, who farms at 20, would be inclined to go up in their farming delve; as for those with all delves at 500…I personally will continue banging head against the wall with pure factions that haven’t received any love whatsoever.
Also, is AI summoned Harpies in Stonesong Room 1 having their final (summon chance) trait once again starting today a feature somebody forgot to mention or a bug? It was bad enough having endless summon in boss room only.
Pet bait - decent idea, utterly poor implementation:
- way too overpriced (as many things in the shop);
- no option to select a pet to rescue, as far as I understand;
- if you happen to lose the match for whatever reason, well, you just wasted that stuff, chump.
Epic tasks - much has been said about the issue in previous threads, some sort of compromise has been reached but, while one might argue juggling back and forth pure math, gem value and whatnot, it is clear that WOW! That’s something! factor when seeing a card you didn’t own yet in your mailbox is, speaking from majority crowd, forever lost (not to mention that such an event could potentially save heaps of keys (certainly more that epic tasks provide) or thousands of diamonds in the forge).
Also, conveniently accidentally forgetting to mention significant slowdown in gold earning rates from PvP at the same time when introducing a massive gold sink…why doesn’t it surprise me? It’s certainly not the first time similar things happen.
Just makes wake up well nurtured and consistently conditioned inner cynic to ask how much of epic task changes were down to actually noting player feedback and how much was a show to make it look like listening to player feedback in hopes playerbase gets pacified and lets their guard down?
Not at home right now, would someone be willing to run a tier 12 Explore with a Cedric gold team and post the amount of gold collected and received at the end of the fight? Going by what @Praam posted, the difficulty multiplier might now only affect the paltry base gold, not the collected gold, which would be yet another huge ninja nerf.
