I would be happier with the update if I could actually play more than a few battles before my phone crashes.

I assume you’ve already tried this but just in case…

3.1.5 Known Issues (PC/Mobile AND Console!)

Can you try putting the game into Power Saving mode and see if that helps? To turn on Power Sving, you will do the following: From the World Map, go to the Settings Menu Go to the Graphics Tab Tap Power Saving box This will switch the games frame rate from 60fps to 30fps. For anyone else who is also getting crashes or lag while playing the game, we also suggest trying this first.
