Hi there) What about gem creation for a pathfinders? would it work like a shiny spell and just add +1 to overall created gems or +1 for each troop of type/color?
And what about conversion - if a card convert all gems to another color - would it convert 6 less if maximized?
I am just “Theory-Crafting” for a moment, so bear with me…
Wand of Stars and Chrysantherax/Stellarix will get “universal” buffs from most constellations because those colored node bonuses apply to every colored troop/hero of that type? Hello, power creep.
Team scores are going to get kinda bonkers I think. Those stats added in Astral Spire is like upgrading all of your kingdoms all over again. This isn’t a bad thing, but the max team score was theoretically around 24,500+, and this update might double that…or more.
I am afraid of the “daily limit” of star stones without purchasing more with a premium pass or daily offers. Those capstone skills can make a real difference in battle, and if you can get those high enough, the little challenge that we have left in the game can be mitigated even more. I don’t know how I feel about this, but it looks like a “pay to win” feature because I doubt FTP will be able to keep up with leveling their capstone skills.
Whatever happens, happens. As long as the game doesn’t self destruct in March, I’m fine with it…
Something important to highlight. If I’m reading it correctly, the hero weapon only gets the hero board buffs (so won’t generate extra gems, get an extra turn, chance to self-cleanse,etc). And the other troops, like stellarix won’t get any hero board buffs but will get every buff for their colour, and every bonus ability regardless of colour. So, a green/purple troop still gets the blue, brown, yellow and red bonus abilities, but only the green and purple stat boosts.
So, troops with every colour (mainly the boss dragons) get every buff, as well as every bonus (except the hero board ones). Well, guess they weren’t super over-powered enough and needed that extra power, clearly.
Some of this feels interesting, but the amount of star stones needed for bonuses seems like it’s gonna be a long time before we reach significant progress on the capstones, and actually affecting the game noticeably. Guess we’ll see how much this makes a difference to players.
it’s definitely a log in everyday and not a 3 times a week or get left behind kind of thing.
it’s a big boost to newer players provided they’re given a chance to experiment and learn without being perma-punished for misplacement.
Should be interesting to mess with the different effects.
The only one I don’t like design-wise is the Green Gold node: +20% bonus Healing/Life gain from Spells. The other 6 help in directly winning a battle. This one only helps stall from losing for a very small subsection of teams
I understand and even agree with this logic, but….
…. I am of the opinion that the “Adventure Board” or whatever you want to call it is largely geared towards less advanced players. It’s not that there isn’t good stuff there for the endgamer, at least on occasion, but I do find myself skipping whole classes of tasks. Either because I don’t need a particular resource in question (e.g., traitstones) or because it’s frequently easier for the endgame player to farm that resource in another activity (e.g., gold).
All the other board bonuses/buffs will trigger from hero actions.. so if the hero casts a spell that generates extra gems.. it applies any unlocked bonuses
It is only that the hero weapon is not included in any of the coloured mana-specific TROOP bonuses.
So, the hero gets everything (bonuses but not buffs) while the other troops get the troop stuff only but not the hero board stuff?
OK. Think I’m understanding this now.
everyone gets everything unless the description states it specifically…
if it says TROOP it only applies to troops, if it says HERO it only applies to when the hero is on your team
If it says nothing and is just like “+1 to Gems to any Gem Creation from my Spells” then its whenever anyone on your team casts a spell that creates Gems
