Yuup , used to make many a paladin rattle with fear in there full plate mail armour. You know maybe they should of made the decaying gems scale with the how much your armour troops lets say between 5-10% per gem per round, if the player is already at a numerical disadvantage troop wise, imho this would still make them mediocre but more worthwhile across the board , because i should imagine with how underwhelming the campaign pass especially to end game players most of them will be keeping there hands in there pockets.
I had the same sort of assumption until, as I said, I noticed the AI matching them. Something about the look of them, for me.
My initial thought on them was something along the lines of, wtf? What a stupid idea. lol I still think they are pretty dumb. But at least they are dumb in a way that doesn’t really matter. I’m not looking forward to when they inevitably come up with magic eating gems, though.
Is it the medium brown? I often find myself referring to Brown Gems as “black” gems because their shade of brown is SO dark.
I was all set to say “no, that’s not it.” But it kind of is it. Or, part of it, at least. The heroic gems that match color are all pretty close to the normal gems, in coloring. But they also don’t have a lot of different colors in them. They are just “shaded” like their respective color gem, more or less. And, they also have more of an “icon” look to them. Less detail? Stylistically, the decay gems are much closer to demonic portal gems than say, barrier gems. If that makes sense. But, YES, the fact that there is so little color alignment between the decay gems and a brown gem, is also a factor.
