Didn’t grab it in time. It said Firenza’s Flower is in danger, 30 mins left.
What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:
I was expecting to get notification of the pet rescue after playing one battle. I knew it was there because it was announced on our guild’s discord server. However, it was almost 30mins later before I got the in game announcement.
The only other way to know there’s a pet rescue going on in game would be to go to the “Games” menu and see that there is a Pet Rescue happening.*
How often does this happen? When did it begin happening? I believe it started since the update.
Steps to make it happen again
*Have someone else trigger a pet rescue. Then keep playing until you get a notification.
That happened to me as well, except that I didn’t even get any notification for the pet but only saw it in the games menu. I played 9 battles after knowing the pet rescue was there (thanks Discord announcement!) and I never saw a notification at all.
Yeah, on playstation the message won’t pop up until you do certain stuff, then it appears. Worse, sometimes if you go to the menu, it shows no pet rescue active, then you win a 30 second battle and it says there is one, but you’re lost time and there might be 50 mins left or whatever.
Same thing here, it’s happened multiple times now, both in Explore and PVP, that there’s no Pet Rescue pop up until you change location in PVP or leave Explore
this shoud be its own thread, as I need a new cliffy error and a troop list from the opponent side to confirm if this is the same transform issue already in the known issues or a new issue specific to pet gnomes crashing pvp and transforming troops
I don’t think it is an oversight and more about how notifications on live work differently to a staging server - because this would have been picked up by QA or our awesome BETA squad asap, as they all play in Guilds and got the notification
I’m confused. Are you saying your team test using a defective method that fails to find bugs, or that the team would have used the right method and found it but they didn’t do the testing?
I’m sure there’s an issue here, just not sure which one. Either way, that sounds bad. If you can pinpoint the issue, hopefully it’s something that can be improved on?
The in-game pop-up to advise a guild mate has rescued a pet (when you end a battle or when collecting a tribute etc) has been a well-functioning aspect of Gems of War for more than a decade.
It is a real shame that such a good change to pet rescues (ie choice of three) has been marred by this introduced issue in 8.9.
I’ve been seeing the same thing since the new range of pets started dropping (and I started paying attention to pets again).
Aside from fixing the bug mentioned, I’d also like to see some definitive, non-battle way of triggering a pet notification. The obvious candidates are clicking on the Games menu or the Mail icon – the more, the better, frankly.
Without pet rescues having the pop-up message to indicate that there is a pet active, (like right after you finish a bottle or collect tribute), will make this vault weekend tedious. You will have to either restart your game, wait for a message in chat, or quickly finish a battle, and then exit to the world map to see if a pet is active or not.
Not having the pet rescue message behave like it did normally should have never been released. Period.
