It goes to your total for the Season, not your total for the week.
Just for some clarity on this, one is pulling data from your total VP and the other is showing your weekly - I’ve asked the team to look at making it consistent everywhere
So, for example.. your total VP is displayed everywhere except on the screen where your weekly pvp goals are, which would display your total for the week.
Anything further on this, should be in it’s existing thread. But the team is aware!
Bug seemed to have been fixed the last couple of weeks, but has now started happening again, as of today.
I collected my final reward, and got no VP. The total at the top of the screen didn’t update/change, and when I checked elsewhere it seems I got the 1000 VP but it’s only added to some totals, not others.
This did not have a fix released in the first place, so I imagine it will continue to display this way until a fix is released.
Huh. Pretty sure it was working last week and the week before. I assumed it was stealth fixed.
Suggests that it’s doubly dodgy and only bugs out some of the time. Weird.
Still annoying that my VP isn’t counted for my season progress, but thanks for the update. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
Just wanted to resurrect this thread to say it happened to me again. Screenshotted the PvP pass, goals and leaderboard to show I didn’t get it in any of those screens.
same here on ps4,and same for a friend on ps5
I’m on Xbox and have never had this happen before. Bonus VP from PvP goals don’t get added anywhere to any total.
Edit: Sorry, it did get added to Alliance total, but not PvP or Season goals, or leaderboard.
Seems to work every other week, and not work the alternate weeks, for me. No idea what’s going on with it, but pretty annoying when you miss out on VP in some places, because the game decides it doesn’t count.
Same happened to me today. In the past the extra 1000VP rewarded always has shown immediately and in the score seen directly above in the Reward collection screen. Since the same amount is shown in the Season screen, it seems like it did not count…or certainly did not count like it has always before. (PC-Steam)
A solid answer on why this is “occasionally” happening would be appreciated. I had not even realized this was an ongoing Bug… just came to report what happened to me today and had figured it was something new for this week.
Just in case someone reads this thread and isn’t aware, this is a visual issue and all VP is still being rewarded and totalled correctly - it is just inconsistent on where it shows the updated totals etc.
It has not had a fix release for it yet. Once it has, this thread will be changed from Reported to Resolved.
Not sure if the fix is coming in 8.8 or 8.9, waiting to hear back from the team.
Shouldn’t the 1,000 VP be counting towards the PvP Pass though? It’s not just a visual issue if so, because my screenshot shows that I’m at tier 3 with 640 points towards tier 4, which means the bonus 1,000 isn’t counting.
Maybe I’ve just never noticed it not counting, but I really thought the bonus VP counted towards everything the same way regular VP does.
It never counted. At least for me. So last season it was 11K off.
I’m also following that up with the team
Why don’t we get a follow-up on resetting our VP or alliance ranks. Completely unnecessary. Plain and simple. We have to play PvP daily or at least a couple times a week to keep up with season goals and gold marks anyway.
Try to find one person who agrees that removing alliance ranks is a good idea. So many of my friends stopped playing for this simple, inconsiderate reason.
Cos currently, I do not have one to share.
I just want to make it clear what I personally feel is best for PvP seasons, in regards to alliance ranks and VP.
The VP that we earn during a PvP season should count towards the PvP season pass and should be reset when a new PvP season begins.
Alliance ranks should not be reset because it is inconsiderate and causes unnecessary stress on many players (especially during the first couple of weeks when people feel that they need to get their alliance ranks back as quickly as possible).
Here are some of my personal thoughts and data on alliance ranks:
Why even have loyalty days? It doesn’t even make sense when you consider that the number is just going to increase while our VP keeps getting reset, making it unbalanced.
Alliance rank bonuses. A PvP season lasts for 77 days. At Great General, you would earn 77×5=385 gold marks for a whole season. (Silver marks are not that useful after getting all the pets and the PvP shop legendary). Why can’t we just earn this passively, like the rewards we get from our Honor ranking?
Most players don’t even earn Praefect, let alone Great General in a single season and taking away that progress is disrespectful. Because I am at a higher level than 99% of the players on Switch, it took me about 5,000 battles to get my alliance ranks back. Is that really necessary?
The only thing I would add to this is removing the VP penalty for people that have been loyal to the game by playing it and therefore leveling up. 90 should always be the VP value for the right battle.
I agree. Trying to balance out VP scoring is too complicated because it punishes the most committed players, while very casual players get the most benefit. This was probably done to make low level players “catch-up,” but in reality, those players are not likely to play anymore than they are used to because they are competing with people that play more than they do.
My personal opinion is that once you have key troops (Stellarix, Chrysantherax, Takshaka, Khafru, etc.), team score doesn’t really matter too much as long as you are around 20k. They might be able to make VP scoring spread out like this for the 3 different battles: 50 VP/ 1 trophy, 70 VP/ 2 trophy, 90 VP/ 3 trophy. But making every battle 90 VP would probably just make things easier, even though the easier fights would reward us as much as the tougher fights.
If I could, I would set 4 firebombs on every defense team and give everyone a break from the nonsense that we have endured for 5 (going on 6) seasons.
