Punishing Journey nerf incoming

Will this be , weres the extra vault event riot
Or a rng dragon egg riot.

Or a weaver gate riot :joy::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:.

I’m sure the Devs are quaking in there pants, over the for coming possible riot :joy:

I’ll try to reply to this before you make 3 more posts. But you played a match 3 game for 8 years, you didn’t fight for your country  :joy:

What I’m saying is, the kinds of people who sit on here posting hour after hour are not your average payers and players, pander to them at every turn and you’ll have happier forums but miserable actual players.

Iv actually only played 2 and half years.

But I’m thankful to the so called whales , I don’t diss them at every turn.

So I can earn my f2p badge :joy:

Also Kafka’s post, over changed incoming.

Has ten likes Upto now, from the forum, that don’t speak and know the truth about journey troops.

@Dwuemka you missed the point of my post. I don’t doubt you see them in the central spire but to say they are a prescribed defence is not correct as you don’t select a defense team unlike the old PvP. In the old version someone specifically selected the defense team which is nolo ger done. That is why I am saying they are not a defense team. Maybe semantics but that’s what I was getting at.

We had King Gobtruffle nerfed a while back, and several other troops changed/re-balanced during various kingdom reworks… people were unhappy, but then adjusted. The game is only better for it, not worse.

One other thing: most problematic journey troops (Chalcedony, Seekra, Todd) were not and are not eligible for shiny upgrades, though, as they were released before shiny was a thing.

It doesn’t change the fact that they are there, and I still keep getting 3 enemies, and each of the 3 is a loopy journey team. So, people are using these troops there on attack with reckless abandon, which turns them into defense troops.

They may not set them consciously and deliberately as defences, but here we all are, fighting them over, and over, and over… This new PvP system will get rid of SOME of the annoying defences (because they are simply too annoying / too slow to use on attack), but the journey loopers weren’t touched by that.

The last serious attempt to prevent the same couple of defense teams appearing everywhere was the introduction of the Elementalist class, which was geared against pretty much every optimised strategy present at the time.
It worked very well in that regard…

I can imagine, if they really went for it again nowadays, they’d introduce a hero class, that kills a random enemy troop every couple of enemy extra turns.

My trust in a development team, who neither read player feedback nor participate in the game, and whose only reliable feedback are spreadsheet numbers, is very limited.

Don’t have a problem with the Journey troops in PvP, I beat them a lot more often than the beat me. If they were infallible everyone would use them in Guild Wars but none of the meta teams use them and all of the best Guild Wars teams will beat a journey/ looping team most of the time.

The only thing that needs fixing is the dreadful scoring. You’re blocking out a lot of the game to anyone outside a top tier guild. If I wasn’t in one there’s no way I’d persevere with the already arduous grind.

What else are people to do? I have stopped using Gobtruffle, the Night Spider team, and Skeleton Key.

Does that make the game better?

I’m not even using journey loop teams unless I need to like for journey but I’m also not asking for changes to stuff that others enjoy because I don’t. That’s my point. Your argument was ā€œI don’t like itā€. There are certainly valid arguments but you not liking something doesn’t matter for the game.

Or maybe it’s just the hole that the scoring system will get an overhaul that’s long due.

so much this!
like the epic weapon for mydnight or i could list dozens of cases here, where we post before sth happened and nothing changed, even not after the event is gone!

You still don’t understand me… It’s not that I don’t like using them myself (it is true, I don’t, but that’s a different issue, I don’t have the patience for them, as they hit with wet noodles; casting the same troop over, over, and over again is boring), I hate losing to them over, and over, and over, and over again. Somehow, for the AI, the loop never seems to break, but in the rare cases that I use such troops myself, I keep losing the loop after a few casts, usually 3 or 4 at most, leaving all the mana for the AI. This not balanced.

Someone mentioned GW and that nobody uses journey loopers in this mode - you are so wrong. Maybe your enemies didn’t use them, but I lost to these loopers in GW enough times throughout last year, after getting one (literally: one) move in and the AI took over the loop and didn’t stop until all 4 troops on my team were killed, to make me hate them even more. Again, this is not balanced.

Seekra is all over the guild wars defenses.

Iv seen it loads, dunno we’re the other guy is playing. His guild wars.

Only thing I will say is

There’s lots of troops, that were around pre shiny keys.
That got shiny buffs, so there’s a big possibility eventually there’s more, from pre shiny keys.

From my feeling, 75% of all guild war defenses have some kind of book setup. Much more efficient in this mode than pathfinders, and way easier to protect from freeze.
Would someone maybe reduce those things in strength, while we’re at it?

Depends on the bracket you’re in and the exact players you are facing. Seekra + Orbweaver is very popular; but before Seekra - 90% of purple teams were either A.Weaver+L&D, or purple book teams. I’d say it’s maybe 40% for Seekra, 30% each for the other two types. But, true, your mileage may vary.

I’m not a fan of the books either, once AI gets going (especially in GW, where enemy of a given colour is guaranteed), it rarely stops before killing at least 3 troops.

Maybe they can make pathfinders ā€œbrokenā€ only in journey events? They could buff the pathfinders like they buff raid boss and invasion captains? Or they could give out event medals like they do in WE? Just one option.

It’s like your missing the whole point on purpose.

Books are strong in gw defenses, but only gw defences.

Journey troops are taking over

PvP
Raid
Doom
Underspire
Class event
Guild wars defences, below top ten brackets were books are.

The issue about the journey troops is there overused outside of journey, and they weren’t made for that to be the case
