New Guild Wars - A Sneak Peek

Perhaps the Weekly event rotation can include Guild Wars as the single ‘major’ event for the week. It sounds more complicated than any of the current rotation’s events. My guild, we like simple. It’s not supposed to be another job, or stressful, or so frustrating to try and keep up. It’s supposed to be FUN.

Unless it’s a single week-long event not run concurrent with others, my guild will NOT be participating. As complicated as it is, we may not anyway. I’ve already lost 6 players (in my guild 2 years or longer!) who quit the game because of the complicated Alliance PVP navigation stacked on top of Delve, Weekly, Daily events, on top of kingdom pass, holiday event, making it take 4 hours a day to get everything done if you want to keep up with the game.

Hated GW’s before. But at least they only took a few minutes and were done, and even with that it was difficult to get players to participate! Can!t wait till they start up again (not!)

If attacking team is set to just one kingdom why can’t defending team be set the same way, it would make GW s just a lil more fair for smaller guilds or lower level players???

Defense restrictions vary depending on which zone you assign the team to.

So far, one thing that seems to happen is forgetting to set any defense teams at all. I will be paying more attention for the next time GW comes around.

It already sort of works this way. Check the keep map, each location has a restriction on what troops you are able to use on defense. Restricting attackers and defenders the same way probably isn’t a good idea, this would just lead to fighting the same mirror matches throughout the week.

Give the defending team a different kingdom than the attacking team. A little unfair to some of our guildies who are lower level to be facing 2x or 3x Takshaka or diamantina teams every gw

Even then it’s not good. The locations were introduced to provide a bit of variety, fighting the same defense over and over again for several days gets boring fast.

Then you could end up with ghulvania attacking and mist of scales defending, with every team full of takshaka.
I’m not thrilled about the current system, but at least each area having different restrictions means you have some choices about which teams you’re up against. You can see what keep they picked and look at what restrictions it has, and guess what you’ll face, giving you a chance to steer clear of certain areas.
