Guild push notifications not sending

Notifications are not working at the cross of the platforms…

If I collect tribute on PC and leave the game open there, no notifications appears on the phone (Android) an hour later, when the tribute is ready. If I collect tribute on the phone - the notification will pop up. Before all notifications stopped last week, that was the behaviour: whether I collected the tribute on PC or on phone, the phone always pinged me an hour after. I’d love to have this back, otherwise there’s little sense in having the notifications at all.

I have notifications enabled in Android’s system settings and in the game, and yet… they still don’t work as they should.

My phone prompted me to allow notifications again (in Android settings) - but only on one of my two phones that I use for GoW (separate accounts). Maybe you need to check your settings to see if they perhaps got disabled? They still don’t fully work as before the change, but at least they do show up. Sometimes.

Reset Gems of War layer settings 4 times now between this morning and last night.
Your comment reminded there are separate app settings as well. Notifications from the apps

@Dwuemka that worked, thanks!

Having tribute notifications work once in a while is somehow worse than not working at all. The company managing it must be considerably cheaper because so far the performance has been bargain bin at best.

Going back to setting alarms. Let us know when the game is actually fixed please.

Kingdom notification are back since the update, but they arrive 1 or 2 minute after the time they are supposed to.

I have thought the same, i think the only thing that is kinda regular is the troop art. But the coders are gone. Its the only one reason that bugs and easy fix are not a thing. The game is outsource and mantain. Milk the players.

It’s about 20 mins late for me

Is everyone else on Android also missing timestamps next to the notification header text? It started with the new update.

behaviour is worse than that, when you have your account used on PC and mobile and you switch between PC to Mobile, then notification is missed for at least once, sometime more than that.

They changed companies who handle notifications. Sometimes in life when you go with the cheapest option you then also pay for the cheapest output. It’s pathetic in this case because clearly they didn’t test prior to giving the contract to the new company and I doubt the devs care enough anymore to make a change.

  • Currently I am only alerted once out of every 2 tributes. Then the alert comes over as 2 separate notifications.
  • Pet rescues aren’t alerted.
  • I’ve only witnessed 1 Ad alert a few days ago which on mobile should be every 8 hours or so.
  • Rest of the notifications I have turned off, but I bet they wouldn’t work anyway.

@Kafka I paid money for this campaign. First time in at least 6 months I’ve donated money to the game and now I regret that decision. Because clearly my funds aren’t going into Gems of War. Things break, we get it, it’s the lack of effort to fix the things that break that worry me. I don’t know what the slum lord equivalent would be for live service games. But that’s the vibes I feel Gems of War is now giving off.

For my entire time with the game I NEVER saw the ad notification. Until yesterday :sweat_smile::rofl: I was surprised, I forgot I even set them on.

Pet notifications are still not working, and these simply must have a time stamp on them, otherwise they are pretty useless. And they also must appear in a timely manner - what’s the point of the notification going out if it arrives when there’s 1 minute left on the rescue? Vault weekend is starting tomorrow, lack of pet notifications will be a huge bother.

And the tribute notifications on the phone go MIA if I collect tribute on PC. And they don’t start working again on the phone until I launch the game on the phone. But even then they appear late. :see_no_evil: A time stamp would also be nice…

Please, please get us a fix to this ASAP.

I saw that comment but from my very basic understanding (anyone feel free to correct me), that should only affect how notifications are pushed. It’s probably the root cause for the delayed notifications, but I believe how the notifications are displayed is only handled by the app itself.

From what I read online, they would have had to set SetShowWhen to false within the GoW app to hide the timestamp.

All I know is notifications used to work fine. They admitted to switching companies and now they are broken at best.

It’s been almost a week now since they said it should start working again. Even when the notification does “work” on Android. It’s not until I open the game that the notification shows. Completely defeating the purpose of it.

And the update is already here… And nothing.

Notifications are completely dead for me now. According to Gaming Hub, my last GoW notification was Oct 31 at 11:30 AM. Not a single notification since then.

EDIT: Ok, this was related to what Dwuemka mentioned about. Collecting tributes from PC disrupts mobile notifications. I was collecting from both PC and mobile over the weekend.

@Kafka
Is your team aware that notifications are not working on any platform?

Any update on when this is finally going to get solved?

Dont know which i hate more?

The cliffy error i get from the browser. Which means i miss tributes while playing on laptop

Or the mobile notifications which are late, or missing, or are just ghost notifications with no tribute.

So, any news on fixing this?

Someone is lying and it ain’t us the players. The notifications are being sent by the app itself not a server. Why im saying this crazy stuff? Well i turn off all data an wifi, and turn on do not disturb i get at least one notification. All of the above i do it when i go to bed.
