I wish to reply to the new UI as a colorblind person (red-green blind) who has also been a very long-time player.
First, as someone who was always missing the very-old-UI (the one before the one we now ditched), I am happy about the return to color. I really, really am.
However, there are some good and some bad parts.
First, for a colorblind player, not having the colored borders anymore is huge, as I was unable to tell some of the rarities apart. This is a LOT better now. I am also doing better in telling the bronze and gold medaled troops apart, which I struggled a bit with before.
The numbers in general are too small. I only play on PC because with colorblindness, mobile play is impossible for basically every game there is, and I agree with the people who say the numbers are too small. I don’t think their position is an issue - that’s just a position change people will get used to - but the size definitely is. The mana numbers are, depending on troop and color, very hard to read.
I also want to say that with my colorblindness, red and green sort of are a yellow to me, so I see the outline of the numbers very clearly on red, green and yellow, meaning I might actually have an easier time than others, as crazy as that is.
I personally think that making the numbers bigger and the mana numbers white inside would fix a lot of the issues. The colored banner is definitely awesome and looks so fancy!
The new troop menu, though, is a bit of a bummer. One of the most attractive things in this game is the art and for a lot of troops, their faces are now obscured by their name. Voice of Orpheus is a good example for that. I would also propose making the team-list on the left smaller to have the cards be bigger and show the art more.
Overall, I do like the UI change, but I absolutely support mobile players in needing bigger numbers. Just because something doesn’t bother me doesn’t mean that it’s a good thing, after all.
