Exactly. You’re the one who was angry.
I called you a “hypocrite”, because you said something hypocritical. That’s not really logic, so much as pointing out that something is true, but I stand by it, because it was a fact. No idea why you’re quoting it and accusing it of faulty logic, though.
Anyway, I’ll leave you with your hypocrisy and move on now. Keys have been removed, issue is over and done with.
I can absolutely guarantee nobody called you a “hyocrit” except yourself.
I called you a “hypocrite”, because you said something hypocritical.
You are all over the place, pick a lane and stay in it.
There’s been bugs that negatively affected players that were fixed instantly too right…right?
Technically yes, because you set the bar too low. That’s on you.
I agree that they can rollback the shiny upgrades made to troops with the extra keys, but they have no right to put bans to people or blame players for the devs mistake.
From the older incident:
“Banning players for taking advantage of known exploits is at our discretion.”
A statement which is both very reasonable, and also occasionally very dangerous. The way I personally see it – first, factors which weigh for a ban include:
Of course, invert the above points to get factors that weigh against a ban:
For this case specifically I agree. Whenever one of these weekly quotas pops up, any time you “Collect Rewards” it collects all of the rewards up to your reward level – it is not possible to collect certain rewards and ignore others. This means that everyone who completed all tiers early (whether or not they scouted out the reward ladder) and collected ANY rewards at all was unable to avoid being issued 13k Shiny Keys.
How can they make a difference between shiny tokens gotten from regular keys and from the 13k keys. Rolling back will not be possible without collateral damage
Two words: server logs.
Ideally (which we can’t confirm), the logs are extensive enough to record every specific drop from every chest opened by every player, which means a targeted query of the server logs should be able to reveal who was issued 13k in Shiny Keys and who subsequently spent them. Once they know what the drops were, they can issue the equivalent reverts on the database. (Which may sound familiar to anyone with git experience.)
Sorry I honestly challenge you to show me an example of a previous bug that wasn’t in the players favour that was fixed in under 10 hours from reset (which is well after hours and indeed over night for the most part in Australia). Most of the times when there’s a bug with like a new troop on an event we just suck it up until event completion, either after the weekend or in some previous cases the entire week.
And further, as far as your logical approach to how to revert things go, that would work in a company that could code. This lot can’t even manage to get spell check correct after 10 years. I have little hope. My best guess is that anyone who spent any shiny keys at all will have those reverted and then as those ppl must “obviously” be the ones who got extra their accounts will be debited by the 13k keys. Betting ppl who just happened to have spent legit keys will get swept into it and end up with negative keys.
Betting also that they can’t track the benefits of those keys, let alone the dust gained and then re-used.
I 100% imagine it to be absolute chaos like most “fixes”
Happy to be wrong, but jaded enough to know I sm likely close if not bang on.
I have a question. Did you all take away 100% of the keys or did you give everyone that finished it 4 keys if they did not use any? If 100% are those who finished the event going to get a Bee pet mailed to them?
Happy to be wrong, but jaded enough to know I am likely close if not bang on.
Yeah, that was pretty obviously jaded. I can be cynical too, but this is not one of those times. (I actually didn’t even know about the bug until it was already resolved, as I work morning shifts so the only thing I did before leaving for work was collect one hourly income.)
Mother of god what an absolute disgrace. Shameful show, devs, just shameful.
Strange decision to not reset the shiny dust amount, players that converted all shiny keys to dust still have a long term benefit from the mistake.
You’re just jealous because you didn’t do it, I really don’t understand this need to try to make others lose things. Especially since the units mounted with the shiny powder are useless in reality.
If all these units are worthless, give me 1 good reason why players used up all their keys as fast as possible? Maybe because they knew damn well this was a bug? And maybe Kugare and many others want a more fair solution.
because of completionist issue. we medal all the common troops despite never using them, whats now?
I just expected a way more professional solution like using a backup to recover data for shiny troops/keys/dust. What’s the lesson otherwise? Abuse a mistake as fast and best as you can? It’s unfair for players that spent real money for shiny keys, didn’t use any of the keys because they know the amount was not intented or wasn’t fast enough to claim them. I’m not any of them and still think the solution was just lazy, but i also don’t care if it stays that way. (next time i would prefer 13k burning marks, thanks! )
What’s the lesson otherwise? Abuse a mistake as fast and best as you can?
Given that the past few times a dev mistake has given players a benefit, they did the same thing, let players keep stuff that was too difficult to remove, yes. Basically, that’s the lesson many players have learned.
I remember the last big issue, I missed out on rewards that others got because I was nervous to claim them in case we were punished. Then they were told they could keep them and not be punished because it was the dev’s mistake. You know what I thought? “Well, sucks for me, but good for those who get that stuff”.
This time round, I got the stuff. I only get to keep some of it, and it’s not that useful because we all know shiny levels are only on fairly useless troops we never use, other than during events. And I wish we all got to keep it, not just some people, but those people will remember it next time and grab the stuff when they can, I bet.
a way more professional solution like using a backup to recover data
As far as I can tell, that would have meant recovering all data, based on the way the game is coded, meaning all the time players spent in-game would be lost for that whole day. Aside from the fact many players would have been very unhappy with that solution, it would risk upsetting the whales and hardcore players more than letting players have shiny tokens.
The professional solution probably was what they chose to do, to be fair.
i also don’t care if it stays that way. (next time i would prefer 13k burning marks, thanks!
)
Fair enough. We’d probably get a bunch of token and silver marks from them, but worth a go.
They rolled back everything, it’s funny when the whales exploit a gems bug they get to keep the thousands and thousands of free gems they got, but when the average player gets a free keys for useless cards they quickly take that all back through server logs.
We can see above all that they were quick to repair it, while there are bugs that are more than a year old that are still there. Or how to clearly show that it is only money that interests them, not the players.
Couldn’t have said it better. They got it backwards. If they care about players, money will come but not the opposite.
Is that a different bug than the mail bug that players got banned for?
And another member of our guild quit the game completely and uninstalled it because of this “event” …
