# Why do endgamers have to buy War coins and beginners get it for free

I think that was the perspective Ghaleon was hoping to hear back on. Are there actual AB tasks, or are they like the Pet Gnomes that were in Arena when they weren’t.

Short answer: “Because beginners are more likely to drop cash on the game than long-term players, so we needed a carrot to dangle in front of the long-termers.”

Shorter answer: “Because we said so.”

because its become a rather unpleasant game from its more benign beginnings

Although I have my fair share of complaints, this game is still comparatively extremely f2p-friendly. I’ll still vouch for it in that regard.
