**New Epic Troop: The Amethyst Giant** [![](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex019/uploads/gemsofwar/original/3X/9/2/92fd68b498a6a90ca92f66b93d9be6fc47cd65d7.jpeg)](https://gemsofwar.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/TheAmethystGiant.jpg) The The Amethyst Giant will be available this week for 400 Glory in the shop as well as in Event Chests, and will appear in Glory, Gem, and Guild chests in 3-4 weeks’ time. ![](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex019/uploads/gemsofwar/original/3X/9/2/9210b22576b950c38231f287a290333677c9bcf4.png) **World Event: Amethyst Acquisition** There are 6 battles that players can encounter during the event: Cthyryzyx, Draxxius, Abhorath, Medea, The Archduke, and The Amethyst Giant. The first 5 battles are randomly chosen, but they all have an equal chance of appearing on the map. The battle against The Amethyst Giant will only appear after the player wins 4 of the other battles. However, his battle will not hang around; if you don’t fight him immediately, he will vanish! Either way, after that, all battles reset, and you’ll need to fight another 4 to spawn The Amethyst Giant again. _Scoring_ You can find the following rewards for each of the different battles you may encounter. - Cthyryzyx: 5 Tomes - Draxxius: 5 Tomes - Abhorath: 6 Tomes - Medea: 7 Tomes - The Archduke: 8 Tomes - The Amethyst Giant: 2 Amethyst Shards Each Tome is worth 2 points, and each Amethyst Shard is worth 10 points. The battle against The Amethyst Giant will drop a variable number of Crystals (on average about 1.18x the base amount). ---

![grafik](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex019/uploads/gemsofwar/original/3X/3/9/3956ab411305d314d80a1442856f50836981a797.png) The chance to find troops in event chests is expected to look like this: | Chance | Amount | Troop | | --- | --- | --- | | 0.11% | 1 | Vash’Dagon | | 3.2% | 1 | Abhorath, Medea, Uvhash-Ka | | 12% | 1 | Ahrimas, Cthyryzyx, Dark Troll, Draxxius, Eldritch Guardian, Eldritch Minion, Ferit, Gelatinous Cube, Green Slime, Keeper of Lore, The Amethyst Giant, Tzathoth, Wall of Tentacles | | 21.6% | 1 | Ancient Horror, Hellspawn, Sacrificial Priest, Void Portal | | 21.6% | 2 | Acolyte, Book of Secrets, Corrupt Magus, Netherhound, Warlock, Golem | | 21.49% | 3 | Tome of Evil | Event chests don’t contain faction troops, guild wars troops, doom troops, tarot cards and special soulforge troops, even though the official Game Guides suggest otherwise. Event chests have been configured incorrectly in the past. Infinity Plus Two doesn’t compensate for keys wasted due to their mistakes, if you plan to spend a large amount of keys, make sure what you are looking for has already been found by other players. ---

I have an alarm set at midnight (even though I’m up for work at 4am lol) to wake up to check the official scoring post matches up with my run through on beta from Sunday, just incase I need to make changes to my guides. I was kinda expecting an official weekly event post by now. How odd… Anyways, can’t say I’m very happy about the prospects of having 10/12 weapons maxed for the next KP Level. It would require both fully upgrading the Give All Allies life Doom Weapon that Sirrian and co. said they were looking into buffing years ago and never did AND upgrading the $5 paid weapon. I guess I can wait till the end of October for that weekend event, but then that’s still 11/12. I’d still have to upgrade a useless doom weapon OR pay $5 for that other weapon… The only upside is that it doesn’t seem like Karakoth is getting another event any time soon. ---
