> [@Fourdottwoone](#): > > I suspect the main issue was that the avatar they tried it with was some butt-ugly dwarf nobody really wanted, even for free, and it cost $10. Bit like a pizza shop trying to sell you a cow pie, then wondering why demand is so low. I actually don’t think the dwarf avatar is that ugly, especially once you start adding armor. Honestly, I probably would have bought it or the Lupina avatar at the time I was buying stuff to support the game and raise VIP, but it’s hidden away from in Specials shop. I definitely did not remember it was there… [I also found a thread from 2016 where the devs addressed the reception of the avatar cosmetics](https://community.gemsofwar.com/t/cosmetic-packs-sales/15120/44) . I was around when Salty commented on it, but the original release was well before my time so it’s interesting to read their replies. Here’s one of Sirrian’s: > [@Cosmetic packs sales](https://community.gemsofwar.com/t/cosmetic-packs-sales/15120/44): > > I think the issues here are _all_ part of the problem… in order to get a reasonable number of sales we would need to offer a LOT of different races/looks, in all genders, + revamp areas of the store to better show off the troops AND probably lower the price a little! > > End result is something that’s probably not going to be cost effective for us until the player base is larger (which is slowly happening… it’s grown by another 6% these last 2 weeks). > > We’ll almost certainly revisit cosmetics at a later time I think. --- _[View the full topic](https://community.gemsofwar.com/t/we-need-royal-armor-outfits/84899)._
