I have noticed a significant reduction in my tribute gems over the past few days. I am getting closer and closer to rage quitting. Was bad enough having the Vault Event nuked…I don’t even bother playing it anymore because the rewards are not worth the effort. It used to be an event I planned for.

Please, the more you take away, the less I want to play. If that is the intent, keep it up. If not, headdesks, I am not buying gems, but if I cannot farm them there is no reason to stick around.

Sorry, but I’m a bit miffed!

It hasn’t changed. You get gems equal to the number of kingdoms that gave tribute less one. You’re probably just having an unlucky run on your tribute chances.

The red guardian of the guild also provides a significant boost to the tribute chance. Maybe you left your guild or switched to one with a less developed red guardian?

I haven’t actually seen any negative changes in the last few days on this topic, I’m still getting the same number of gems every hour with some normal small variations

The gems have been consistently over 30 per hour for over a year, normally 35-38. Now I am lucky to get 28 gems.

The only change I have made in the past year, was last week I leveled up 2 more kingdoms. Thought that was supposed to increase the tribute lol. I have been in Whitehelm my entire 3 years of gameplay.

I had that a few weeks back. Typically seeing 32-35 gems but always seemed to be 30+, then I had a week where I kept getting below 30 for most of my tributes. Thought they’d changed something, but then it went back to 30+ most of the time. Still seeing less than 30 sometimes, and feels more often than before, but I don’t have any data to compare so I can’t be sure. It’s probably just dodgy RNG, but I understand (given the devs cheating us before, like with dungeons not using real RNG) that it feels like the devs have messed something up to screw us over.
Hopefully your luck improves, and it was just a bad run of tributes.

38 is possible?

Wow, didn’t know!😲

Thought 37 is the highest amount.

About the Topic: nothing unusual here 🙂

There are a maximum of of 38 kingdoms in the game (unless they add more). The highest possible tribute always subtracts “1” from the number of kingdoms that you collect tribute from (just count the number of kingdoms in your tribute summary).

I learned this at the _very_ early stages of my gaming experience when I only got tribute from Whitehelm and did not receive even a single gem. Then, once I leveled up other kingdoms, my gems gradually increased one by one. Of course, there is no in-game explanation of any of this.🤣

So 38 minus 1 = 37 max., right?

@dwshasta It sounds like you have serious data on this. I don’t have any to back you up with, but I think ure on to something. Ofc you will be in a place on this forum where players and even mod will say you are wrong, so it is you versus the world really.

Yes. 37 gems from hourly tributes is the max. But this is only more likely to happen if most kingdoms have reached power level 26.

But it’s strange, the gold, glory, and keys will keep going up. I always wanted to see how high those numbers got if I took a year off from this game and then came back.🤣

Thank you all for the input. Good to know there are a variety of explanations. Thought I was going crazy with the big fall in numbers. Hopefully it will all resolve.

I mean, there are literally only 37 tributes possible and they claimed to be getting 35-38 each time. Not saying they’re lying but it’s easy to misremember things and just be wrong if you don’t actually collect data on the spot in a methodical way.

Depends on if you are playing on console, PC, or mobile (and whether you have automatic notifications). On Switch, for example, you only collect Tributes by actually checking for them manually, they do not passively accumulate over time.

This is so important. The amount of times people claim the rates have been changed for every RNG element under the sun drives me a bit batty 😂 Genuinely, if you feel like rates of something have been changed, do some large-scale data collection involving more depth than “me and 3 guidlies think the devs are screwing us over.” It gives the community a better understanding of the game regardless of outcome and can actually be a fun project to work on.

To be fair, if you only notice after it’s been changed, you can’t really gather data to test if it was changed, because you can no longer acces any data from before the change. But I agree you should be gathering data so you can show something, and any data is potentially useful. Especially if you can get multiple people working on collecting it, to give more information.

True, but we often know the expected rate, such as for tribute or rolling a specific gem dragon. Situations where we don’t know the expected rate are definitely more difficult.

That actually raises a good point. What if the “before” value was higher than the expected rate, in this case? I mean, what if dwshasta was getting more gems than expected for weeks or months, possibly due to some bug, and then it got fixed. That would be a change that lowered their gems received, but if they then tried to record data to show a change had happened, it would show the correct expected value. So, even though they know a change happened, the data would suggest it hadn’t.
And if the devs checked, they’d see only that the current values are correct.

TLDR: You made me think that the old values may have been wrong, not the new ones.

That’s another reason to do data collection en masse rather than base results off of one player. If a bug was so big it was affecting all players participating in the data collection, then that’s likely a bug Jeto could communicate about.
