@Kafka just seen a report of this on PlayStation in global 001. First time I’ve seen it mentioned on the platform. They first reported the shield in the centre of the screen, I then mentioned what I’d read in this thread. They replied that they also got the red box a short time later and couldn’t see the whole board. ---

Before this patch like two patches ago I seen it once in guild wars battle. A restart of the game after the battle fixed it. ---

I’ve had this happen multiple times while only playing pvp on Xbox, been this way since the pvp update. ---

If you report that battles with this issue are giving dragonite or deed books, they will actually look into fixing it. ---

Just bumping to say this wasn’t fixed from the past update. All types of squares are still popping up during PvP battles. ---

If your “priority” is fixing PVP, why is this still an issue??? Restarting the game should not be the solution. ---

So, the last few days I tested something and it seems to work…so far. After doing the monument battles, restart the game, then do the PVP battles. When I do it in this order, I have not seen the shields/blocks. Anytime I forget to restart, they show up (as often as every other battle) until I restart. However, I do my PVP all at once. I don’t know if I go do other things in the game and come back to PVP if the issue returns. Again, why am I forced to find workarounds when this should be fixed by now??? ---

I’ve updated the bug report for this and poked the team, also provided your account details as it’s not consistent for everyone and doesn’t come up in our QA testing, so it seems account specific. Thanks for your unending patience while we track this down! ---

The trigger for this bug is unknown. I remember getting the white box in Guild Wars a number of times. Yes, it’s true. This isn’t a new bug, but it sounds like recent updates have made it more frequent. I don’t necessarily think it’s just PVP either. I have no screenshots of the bug happening on my end, because I always just finished the battle, probably lost the match if I was in Guild Wars at the time, closed the game, and it was gone when I reopened it. To fix this bug, the devs would have to do more than just play their own game. They could go years without seeing this box. Well, probably, because tracking down the cause is ridiculously difficult. ---

I found that going to the guild menu gets rid of the current shield/colored block. Unfortunately, it does not keep it from happening again. Still, much better than restarting the game. It would be even better if the devs fixed it. ---

First time this bug happened to me. I play on Steam. I was playing PvP when it happened. I had pet gnome (2 white foods) on the match before this. The game was struggling to load reward images on the pet gnome match. And some rewards was just the block with diagonal white and black lines. I’ve noticed a very consistent trigger to get these blocks to appear on screen. I’ve been running gnome a paloozas in PvP this weekend and I’m getting the guild shield, white square, red square, and small white square every 2-3 battles consistently. I had one gap that kept the square almost every battle. One time over 5 battles in a row. First time I’ve ever seen it this bad. It definitely appears that gnomes help make these squares appear. @Bramble @Kafka all you need to do is run a gap in PvP on XBOX and I guarantee you can reproduce this bug.
