This is not the first time the brown emojis have appeared in the GoW chat rooms, a very old bug has made its return. Last episode was a couple years ago or thereabouts.
Good news for me, I almost always just use the poop emoji so….no real difference.

A guildie of mine reports that they still have blocks instead of emoji. Game up to date, all assets downloaded. What else can they do to get this fix?
Edit: re-installing also didn’t help, still brown squares instead of emoji.

Yup - I have altered the header as it is not fixed.
“Fix will be rolled out in the next 24 hours” was 4 days ago.

We’ve attempted server fixes for this but as you’ve seen they haven’t worked ☹
This means we’ll need to do a client fix for it in the next game update v8.3.
Sorry for the lack of emojis in the meantime
