# \[Reported\] Chat is broken

PS5
**What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:**
About 30 mins ago the game announced it had lost connection to chat, and when I tried to reconnect, it just brings up the loading screen (gems spinning past) forever. I quit and restarted the game and tried again, but it happens every time. I also tried hitting the button to open chat and when it asked if I wanted to connect I said no, and the game broke, with no kingdoms on the map, just background, but still letting me select stuff.
**How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?**

It might be worth to mention that the same problem occurred before for me on Android: “Do you want to join the chat?” Then the endless loading animation. I always had to restart the game. Happens on some days, not on all.
Maybe implement a timer which stops trying to open the screen after a timeout.

Chat had been broken on PC/Android for me for several hours, of I try to join chat the animation doesn’t stop and I’m forced to close the have and reopen.
I’m honestly thinking they are trying to get all the people to quit for some reason, with the way they keep breaking things and making “features” that no one asked for, wants, etc, and if there was something good about it, then maybe that’d be cool, except they make things worse EVERY, SINGLE, TIME!!
I’ve seen a lot of good dedicated players quiting because of this all, and some guild dissolve for lack of players. I understand why they’ve left and have been seriously considering it myself.
QUIT BREAKING THE GAME AND MAKING IT WORSE INSTEAD OF BETTER

It’s not working. Gems of War uses a third party chat software. Whenever the license expires, it gets restricted to something like 100 concurrent users. If you manage to grab a free slot you get in, the others are put on hold. I imagine the issue goes away once they pay their license fees.
