# PvP matching - how does it work?

Hi, sorry this has probably already been covered somewhere, but I didn’t find any posts that weren’t several years old.

How are PvP matches determined?

When I first started playing, my ‘Easy’ matches seemed equivalent to my own team, with comparable team scores and player level. But now my Easy match can have a team score 2,000+ points higher than mine and a player level triple my own. (e.g. my team score is 3,679 and my Easy opponent’s team score is 5,803.)

Note I am not complaining, just wanting to understand what factors in the matches. 🙂  
If I understand why the matches are so variable, I might be able to plan better… or consider whether to use that Refresh button!

My experience has been that team values (not necessarily opponent levels) go up with each victory in that battle tier. They fall (slightly) when you lose a battle. Whether it’s supposed to work like this is anybody’s guess… 😁

I believe there’s a very strong bias towards picking opponents who are currently active within PvP.
