# \[Not a bug\] Daemonic Portal Gems Explode

**Platform, device version and operating system:** Android, Samsung Galaxy S24

**What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:**  
Since the in-game descriptions and public announcements of daemonic portal gems make no mention of explosions, I was not expecting them to explode when destroyed. They are described the same way that ghost gems and angel gems are, which (I believe) do not explode when destroyed.

**How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?**  
Since they were introduced.

**Steps to make it happen again**  
Destroy or explode any daemonic portal gem. If they are supposed to explode like Uber doomskulls, please add this to the heroic gem guide.

Upon slowing down the game and studying the explosion more closely, it looks like when destroyed, it explodes and explodes the gems above, below, and on either side of it. Does anyone know if Uber doomskulls and bomb gems have the same pattern of explosions?

Can confirm, Daemonic Portal gems explode in a roughly 5x5 area the same as Bomb Gems and Uber Doomskulls.

This is actually very easy to test for: just use any Troop that destroys a row/column of choice (Armored Boar, etc).

This is not a bug.

Daemonic Portal Gems do explode.

As you’ve suggested, I’ve requested for the gem guide description to be clearer on this issue!
