I provided requisite details and video in ZenDesk Ticket 136841

Sharing here so community knows. After bless fell dragon egg with my wand of stars, I went to devour it with Vash’dragon, which didn’t work (as expected), but this did not remove the bless on the fell dragon egg (unexpected). However, when the fell dragon egg does skull damage, the bless is removed (unexpected) similar to what would happen with the submerge buff if you casted a spell when you had it. I can’t remember if bless is also removed when you use a spell attack.

And why should using spell with troop A remove bless from troop B that does nothing and just sits there (unless there is dispel or curse involved)?

What’s described sounds pretty much like how it’s been happening since the first day bless was introduced. If, in your case, Fell Dragon Egg is not the one to take action, bless remains; make it cast spell explicitly - bless will go away.

Yeah, Bless is not Barrier: it is not “consumed” upon blocking an effect (other than Curse), but instead remains in effect until the user does something.

Thank you @AMT and @Stratelier I did not know that. I indeed thought bless was like barrier but for negative status effects and as such would be consumed by one and would not go away because of spell or skull. My bad.
