The issue sounds quite similar to [this reported bug](https://community.gemsofwar.com/t/reported-incorrect-opponent-teams-in-world-events/66942), which hasn’t been worked on for several years now. I’m not entirely convinced that lack of extra information is preventing this from getting fixed.
