I expected the text to show properly.

Since last patch (4.3.5)

Not a bug. It must be something on your end.  
Uninstall and reinstall the game, completely. (including hidden files and folders and registry entries)

Look, here: (Update 4.3.5.04, PC, Steam client, Win 7x64)
