# \[Investigating\] Lantern not giving double rewards after update

**Platform, device version and operating system:**
Playing on pc and noticed that my lantern used on Boss 2 didn’t give double rewards!
Only got 1 Epic vault key from it and 1 imperial.

**What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened:**
Lanterns are supposed to give double rewards, but after the update they do not!
**How often does this happen? When did it begin happening?**
Started after update.
**Steps to make it happen again**
Can’t test if it is consistent for all boss rooms cause I only have 1 lantern

That makes it even weirder!
For me it was the 2nd boss and I had already cleared it before the update.
When fighting it again AND using the lantern, it gave me 1EVK and 1 Imperial Deed, where that should be 2 of each!

It seems to be ‘remembering’ stuff from the first go, before reset. Wonder if that’s why you are seeing this effect, as the game thinks you already did it with a lantern and is confused?
For example I opened the teal rune gate before, and I’ve just come across the unlock boss and it says I already have the keystone. I did earlier on in the week, but not since the reset, so some things have been carried across the reset for sure.

I did get the double rewards for that boss before reset.
But a game getting confused…
I get your point, don’t get me wrong!
But still seems like an error in coding.
Or maybe not a real error, but the code can’t handle the fact that a boss is encountered twice with a lantern?
Or something…
Still a mess tho.
I need to buy more torches to finish this week and then I don’t even get the double rewards?

Used Lantern on second dragon boss just now and received the 2 ID and 2 EVK as expected.
Note, I hadn’t found the 2nd Dragon Boss earlier in the week.
