> The issue is the scoring mechanic. We dont want 1 that is random. 1 that starts off low, and increases with the increase in difficulty for the fights is fine, thats not random, thats a set scoring method that we understand how it works.
>
> The issue with the RNG approach, and its the reason you avoid doing a lot of things for other events, is because its unfair. **If I put in the same effort as someone else, I expect the same rewards as them.** Thats how the events are meant to work. As it stands, with the same effort, our scores can be widely different.

Quoted for emphasis. If I fight the same battles as you and do as well as you did, the only fair outcome is that we both have the same score.

I forgave them for Council of Chiefs, it was a brand new event. There was a similar issue with ToD scoring and they corrected it for next time. But you know what they say? “Fool me once, strike one. But fool me twice… strike three.”

> It just sucks when you get least possible eyes all the time, and you don’t even know what you are doing wrong.

I think this summarises my feelings, too. It’s not fun to repeatedly get the lowest possible advertised score without knowing why or what you can do about it, whether or not it’s something you’re doing.

I don’t think people should have to try work out how the scoring works each event. They should just be able to start playing and enjoy themselves, without the barriers.

It makes a bit more sense when you consider that the possible scores are all discrete numbers within the range given – i.e. 10, 20, 30 instead of _any_ integer between 10-30 for the Hydra battles – and that with an average of 1.8x the _lowest_ (I think ‘base’ is potentially confusing without more explanation) score in the range, it’s expected that the lowest score will show up the most often; but **none of that was explained in the brief**.

I guess I can see how if a player were to play by themselves without checking the forums or communicating with anyone else, they might merrily match along and see, “10 points, 10 points, ooh yay, 20 points!!!” But it seems like it wasn’t considered that a) the player might start to wonder, “How come I got 20 points for that last battle? Did I just get lucky? What can I do to get that again?” And then as time elapses, frustration might creep in. Or b) that the moment a guild member messages in guild chat/other player messages in global, “Ooh, I just got 60 points for that battle!” it’s immediately _possible_ for players to compare and become upset.

To me, it seems a bit like a 505’d/half-baked explanation, combined with some kind of error somewhere in the “collating feedback” and “planning for the next event” stages (randomised scoring and very high buy-ins to complete the event), has led to an unsatisfactory player experience.

What’s the point of giving feedback? Yeah it’s nice to say “We listen to feedback” but that’s obviously just the company line because we keep getting this rng scoring nonsense coupled with tier 6 or 7 reqs. This event is no different from CoC. 😡👎

I know that, personally, Black Dragon has put out a statement to our guild members to not bother completing the event. 1350 gems per person, to maybe complete it, is not something we want to do. If they wanna spend those gems, sure. But we are not gonna force everyone to spend them to complete the event.

I think, with the RNG scoring, and the totals from last World Event, there would be less complaints, because while you have listened and made it a bit easier to complete, the RNG would increasing the spending a bit in line with the t4 guide.

But a RNG approach is not the right way in these types of events. Instead, like Raid, I would agree with a linear progression in scores. This way, the harder the fights, the more the score. And with the option for the multiple battles, people can pick to spread out the fights and stay lower.

Maybe even an increase in score tied to each beating of the Xerodar team.

Yep. I have also told my guild not to spend any more gems on this event like I did with Council of Chiefs.

Maybe the devs think we all suffer from short to medium term memory loss? 😆

I forgot to switch medals again when switching to delves. And where was that thread again about assigning medals to teams? I seem to have forgot what it was called…

I am starting to remember why I dislike the new events tho. 😡

**UPDATE AFTER SCORING CHANGE**

If choosing the highest room rarity each time and fighting the boss every 4 fights…

```
Tier 4 - 94 Sigils - 1,189 avg points
Tier 5 - 108 Sigils - 1,377 avg points
Tier 6 - 126 Sigils - 1,606 avg points
Needed Per Player - 1,166.6 [35,000 total]
Valravens calculated as (free sigils + shop sigils) x 2.25. It has been fairly consistent in the past across multiple events.
Points at 12.75 per Sigil
```

**The event can now be complete if 30 member buy Tier 4 in most cases.**

It’s great that they got around to correcting the scoring, but it still bothers me that the community needed to yell and scream about the event to get them to do so, and then we were told that there was a math error, and they were fixing it. I just have a hard time believing (especially since this is the third World Event) that it’s that hard to calculate when players can see the issue almost immediately (and we don’t have the benefit of knowing exactly how the event works). Requiring every member to buy to Tier 6 or 7 to complete the event still seems like a calculation, not an error.

If I had to guess, I would say they are trying to figure out why people will spend so many more gems on Raid boss than the world event. I believe the answer is in raid boss, the more sigils you buy, the more point value you get per sigil because the raid boss’ health always goes up. That way 1 person can save the day and carry the whole guild if he spends enough gems.

In world events, the difficulty goes up, but the score per fight stays the same. Basically you are getting less and less score for the same amount of effort you are putting in, so it seems like a rip off and a waste of time.

THIS. I bought tier 5 last day of the event to get us a few extra points that we were missing and it barely showed.

The first world event did have some modifier per level - you had a higher chance of a higher “random” score as the level of fights increased. I would like to see that back - not the different flavour of randomness, but more points with increasing battle difficulties.
Or at least, give more sigils with higher shop tiers.

My world event wish list:

- consistent score - everyone gets the same battles offered and two players who do equally well in a battle get the same score for it
- points per battle scale with difficulty/level
- reward tiers set to allow guilds to complete all rewards by every member buying Tier 4
