# \[CLOSED\] \[PC only\] Game won't start (is it just me?)

**What you were expecting to happen, and what actually happened?**
The game just won’t get past the first splash screen (the purple/space-themed one, with the light particles in a spring-like disposition). It never gets past that part. Steam Overlay can’t be activated, either (disabling it makes no difference).
No error message, no nothing. Everything seems fine from task manager. Verifying integrity of game files showed everything’s ok. Server status are also ok.
**What are the steps to make it happen again?**
Launch the game.

Most important: is it just me? Because I’m surprised there’s no thread about it. It works fine on mobile, though.
EDIT: I’ve noticed the gem in the O of “Gems _o_f War” changes from blue to red before it freezes.

It seems that it was something with Steam. Restarting Steam fixed it.
