There’s no denying the benefits that a guild can provide, and I won’t argue that it’s not the best means of increasing your roster. It certainly isn’t the only way, however. Back when I decided to play _Gems of War_, I approached this game with the intention of doing things all by my lonesome. I didn’t want to benefit from a guild, nor did I want to be beholden to one. I didn’t mind the disadvantage/challenge in obtaining new troops. Additionally, I decided that I would basically “play the game without really playing it.” In other words, I wanted to see how far I could get with just the Treasure Hunt mini game. There’s a [thread](https://community.gemsofwar.com/t/my-current-f2p-progress-low-level-hero/40137) buried somewhere on the forums if anyone cares.
